Hey All How You Doing? Me I am a Little Better Now!

As I believe I have gotten the Site at Sinbadthesailorman Dot Com under control.

Here is what the deal was my Hub and site “Sinbad The Sailor Man Dot Com” was acting up and when I put a ticket in I found out It has been UN supported for the last Year! But Now what is left of it and still up and working is at Sinbadthesailorman Dot Info.

I am currently Rebuilding the PW&OSfStSM Site at a WordPress Themed Site. It will still be Hosted at Fatcow.com and It will have the Original Dot Com address Sinbadthesailorman.com.

The Dot Info should be Up but, It may not be Fully Functioning not even as well as It did Yesterday! And It will decline in functionality as time goes by. There is nothing I can do about It as of today Its a third party website builder for Fatcow and It is being phased out! But like a way Back Site you'll be able to see what It is and was.

This Post will be a site wide Posting and you will see It at all my sites and on my FaceBook pages, Twitter.com, and wherever else I can think about getting It up and then remember to do so.

The New Wordpress Theme is Visible

But appears nothing like a Wordpress theme and It Won't for a good week and a half most likely. But the Addresses of both sites are showing up as Up and they are something and Bits and Pieces of both. They are not completely restored and the Old Website won't be to my understanding as I mentioned above here. So this is why I am putting this Info Out too you all. So you don't think I built a bunch of totally useless crap and slapped It up trying to make a buck.

Well I got to Run because I am under the Gun Here and I need to try and save the Christmas rush earnings ability If I can If Not Oh well It Looks like Easter and St Valentines Day will be my next chance to earn with Amazon.com and my other Affiliates.

Stuff Happens and It will Happen When You Least Expect It! Especially If You Don't Stay On Top of Things!

Daniel Goleman On Focus: "The Secret to High Performance and Fulfilment"

Published on Nov 2, 2013

Filmed at the Royal College of Music on 25th October 2013.

Psychologist Daniel Goleman shot to fame with his groundbreaking bestseller Emotional Intelligence.

The premise of the book, now widely accepted, is that raw intelligence alone is not a sure predictor of success in life.

A greater role is played by 'softer' skills such as self-control, self-motivation, empathy and good interpersonal relationships.

Now Goleman comes to Intelligence Squared for an exclusive talk on the themes of his latest book, Focus: The Hidden Driver of Excellence.

Attention, he will argue, is an underrated asset for high achievers in any field.

Incorporating findings from neuroscience, Goleman will show why we need three kinds of focus: inner, for self-awareness; other, for the empathy that builds effective relationships; and outer, for understanding the larger systems in which organizations operate.

Those who excel rely on Smart Practices such as mindfulness meditation, focused preparation and positive emotions that help improve habits, add new skills, and sustain excellence.

Daniel Jay Goleman (born March 7, 1946) is an author, psychologist, and science journalist.

For twelve years, he wrote for The New York Times, specializing in psychology and brain sciences.

He is the author of more than 10 books on psychology, education, science, ecological crisis, and leadership. He is a two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee.[1]

Biography

Goleman was born in 1946 in Stockton, California, the son of Jewish college professors.

He received a scholarship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to attend Amherst College.

The Amherst Independent Scholar program allowed him to transfer for his junior year to the University of California at Berkeley.

He then returned to Amherst where he graduated magna cum laude.

He then received a scholarship from the Ford Foundation to attend Harvard University where he received his PhD studying under David C. McClelland.

He studied in India using a pre-doctoral fellowship from Harvard and a post-doctoral grant from the Social Science Research Council.

He wrote his first book based on travel in India and Sri Lanka and then returned as a visiting lecturer to Harvard where during the 1970s his topic of the psychology of consciousness was popular.

McClelland recommended him for a job at Psychology Today from which he was recruited by The New York Times in 1984.[2]

Goleman co-founded the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning at Yale University's Child Studies Center which then moved to the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Currently he co-directs the Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organizations at Rutgers University. He sits on the board of the Mind & Life Institute.[2]

Career

Research

Goleman authored the internationally best-selling book, Emotional Intelligence (1995, Bantam Books), that spent more than one-and-a-half years on The New York Times Best Seller list.

Goleman developed the argument that non-cognitive skills can matter as much as I.Q. for workplace success in Working with Emotional Intelligence (1998, Bantam Books), and for leadership effectiveness in Primal Leadership (2001, Harvard Business School Press).

Goleman's most recent best-seller is Social Intelligence: The New Science of Human Relationships (2006, Bantam Books).

He developed The Emotional Intelligence Appraisal test, specifically The Emotional Competencies (Goleman) model.

In his first book, The Varieties of Meditative Experience (1977), republished as The Meditative Mind in 1988, Goleman used sequential chapters to describe almost a dozen different meditation systems.

He wrote that "the need for the mediator to retrain his attention, whether through concentration or mindfulness, is the single invariant ingredient in the recipe for altering consciousness of every meditation system".[3]

 As an Educator

Goleman has published a series of dialogues with More Than Sound entitled "Wired to Connect" on the applications of social intelligence.

Those already published include:

A topic of his discussion with Ekman was how to empathize with others, and how we can understand other's emotions as well as our own.

Goleman suggests that in light of tragedies like Hurricane Katrina, we must learn how to empathize with others in order to help them.

Goleman and Ekman are both contributors to Greater Good magazine, Greater Good Science Center, University of California, Berkeley.

In 2012 Goleman published a new management training series called Leadership: A Master Class. Participants include George Kohlrieser, Howard Gardner, Warren Bennis, Daniel Siegel, Bill George, Teresa Amabile, Claudio Fernandez-Araoz, and Erica Ariel Fox.

 Awards

Goleman has received many awards for his writing, including a Career Achievement award for journalism from the American Psychological Association.

He was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in recognition of his efforts to communicate the behavioral sciences to the public.

He is a two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee.[1]

Les Brown~ "Super Motivational Seminar Of The Century"

"YOU MUST BE WILLING TO DO TODAY THE THINGS OTHER'S DON'T DO!
IN ORDER TO HAVE THE THINGS TOMORROW OTHERS WON'T HAVE." ~LES BROWN

(FROM SEMINAR OF THE CENTURY)

Leslie C. "Les" Brown (born February 17, 1945) is a motivational speaker, former Ohio politician, popular author, radio DJ, and former host of The Les Brown Show.

As a politician, he is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives.[1]

As a motivational speaker, he uses the catch phrase, "It's possible," and teaches people to follow their dreams as he learned to do.[2]

from the 29th district
In office
January 3, 1977 – January 3, 1983
Preceded by William Kopp
Succeeded by Ray Miller
Personal details
Political party Democratic

Early life

Les Brown was born with his twin brother Wesley on February 17, 1945 in a low-income section of Miami, Florida in an abandoned building.

He was subsequently given up for adoption and adopted by Mamie Brown, a then 38-year-old single woman who worked as a cafeteria attendant and domestic assistant.

He was declared "educably mentally retarded" while in grade school.

Despite the obvious self-esteem issues this created, with the encouragement of his mother and assistance by a helpful teacher in high school, he learned how to reach his full potential, a key point in many motivational speeches he gives now.

Professional Life

As derived from many of Brown's speeches, he first decided to get into public radio and kept returning to the same radio station time and time again looking for a break, and it wasn't until the on-air failures of the afternoon DJ that he took his break in radio into his own hands and was hired full-time as on-air talent.

Upon his termination from the radio station, he ran for election in the Ohio House of Representatives and won.

After leaving the Ohio state legislature, he decided to get into television and eventually ended up on PBS.

He also formed Les Brown Enterprises in order to support his newest career as a motivational speaker and is now also on KFWB in California on a daily syndicated radio program.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he also won many local and national awards for excellence and he has an Emmy to his name.

In 1993, he began hosting a new talk show, The Les Brown Show, which began airing on September 6, 1993.

After nearly four months, it went on hiatus on December 3, 1993,[3] and on January 17, 1994, King World Productions replaced this with Rolonda, a show hosted by Rolonda Watts.[4]

Jim Rohn~ "Why, Why, Why, Why?"

 Kh Tang
 Uploaded on Dec 28, 2010

Jim Rohn (September 17, 1930 – December 5, 2009) was an American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker.

His rags to riches story played a large part in his work, which influenced others in the personal development industry.

Early life

Emanuel James "Jim" Rohn was born in Yakima, Washington to Emanuel and Clara Rohn. The Rohns owned and worked a farm in Caldwell, Idaho where Jim grew up, as an only child.

Career

Jim graduated from high school 3rd out of a class of 140.

He went to college for a year and a half before dropping out and joining the work force.

At age 25, according to his accounts, he was working as a stock clerk for Sears collecting a weekly $57 paycheck.

He wasn't broke but struggling financially, unable to see a way that would lead to his personal ambitions.[citation needed]

Around this time, a friend invited him to a lecture given by John Earl Shoaff, an entrepreneur who impressed Rohn with his wealth, business accomplishments, charisma, and life philosophy.

At that time, Shoaff was VP of Sales in a nutritional supplement company called AbundaVita.

In October 1955, Rohn joined AbundaVita became a distributor of the company's product line and began a process of personal development that culminated in his becoming a millionaire by age 31.

In  June 1957, Shoaff left AbundaVita and with best friend, Rich Schnackenberg, started a nutritional company called Nutri-Bio. Rohn resigned his distributorship with AbundaVita and signed on with Nutri-Bio.

It was at this point that Shoaff (and Schnackenberg) really took Rohn under their wing and personally mentored him. Jim took to their teachings like a fish to water and built one of the largest organizations in the company.

Shoaff and Schnackenberg were so impressed with Rohn that, in 1960, when Nutri-Bio expanded into Canada, they personally selected Rohn to fill the VP slot.

When Nutri-Bio went out of business in the early 1960s, Rohn's net worth fell from $2,300,000 to almost zero.

According to his own account "It was then that all the houses and the fancy cars had to go."

He still had all of his skills so he rented an apartment, started over from scratch and built his fortunes all over again.

Rohn was invited by a friend to come and tell his "rags-to-riches" story to his rotary club.

He accepted and titled his talk "Idaho Farm Boy makes it to Beverly Hills."

The talk went so well that soon others began asking him to speak at various luncheons and other events.

In 1963, at the Beverly Hills Hotel, he gave his first public seminar.

He then began presenting seminars all over the country, telling his story and teaching the personal development philosophy he felt had led to his accomplishments.

In 1966, a friend and fellow ex-Nutri-Bio distributor, William E. Bailey, started a company called Bestline Products.

Bailey hired Rohn to host recruiting and training meetings all across the country, paying him the sum of $250,000, up front, for his services.

Throughout the '70s, Rohn conducted a number of seminars for the Marketing Executives of Standard Oil (California) which now does business as Chevron Corporation.

At the same time, he conducted a personal development business called "Adventures in Achievement" which featured both live seminars as well as personal development workshops.

Ultimately, he presented seminars, worldwide, for more than 40 years.

Tony Robbins who worked for Rohn in the late '70s, was mentored by Rohn during the early years of his career.

Others who credit Rohn for his influence on their careers include authors Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup book series), author/lecturer Brian Tracy and T. Harv Eker.

Rohn also mentored top motivational speaker Chris Widener (author) the last seven years of his life.

Widener now carries on Rohn's work with Twelve Pillars seminars based on Twelve Pillars, Rohn's last book, co-authored with Widener.

Rohn was the recipient of the 1985 National Speakers Association CPAE Award for excellence in speaking. He is also the author of 17 different books, audio and video programs.

Death

Jim Rohn died of pulmonary fibrosis on December 5, 2009 after an 18-month battle.[1]
